Construction Career Academy

Are you looking for a summer job that pays well, earns you capstone credit and can lead you to a career in the construction industry? The Associated General Contractors of South Dakota in collaboration with Sioux Falls and Rapid City Area schools has created a summer hands-on paid experience that will give you the chance to earn while you learn. Through a blend of classroom instruction and on-the-job training, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from the best in the business.

This program is for high school rising sophomores, juniors and seniors in the Sioux Falls and Rapid City areas, including their surrounding communities.

The application window closes on February 27, 2026. The interviews with Construction Professionals for a Match Event will be held on March 11th at Southeast Tech and March 18th at AGC of SD in Rapid City. More information will be sent out after the application period closes.

HOW THIS WORKS

You’ll interview with construction professionals to determine job requirements and opportunities. If selected, you’ll receive paid training including classroom instruction, lab construction projects and on-the-job training.

  • Time Frame: Starts after Memorial Day through the end of August
  • Attend class 1/2 of the time and on the job for the rest
